Anna Christie

At the weekend by other half took me out to celebrate our 3 years together.

A few weeks belated maybe but there was good reason, He took me to the Donmar Warehouse to see Anna Christie, a play by Eugene O'Neill.

He booked it weeks ago as soon as the tickets were launched and we got lucky with really good seats.

The theatre itself is small and intimate seating only 250.

All the better to be up close and personal when the leading man, Matt, is played by non other than the ever easy on the eye Mr Jude Law.

The first sighting of him being when he is helped to safety (half naked!) aboard a barge following the wreckage of the ship he was sailing on.

A love story ensues between the coal barge skippers daughter Anna (played by Ruth Wilson) and sailor Matt, causing tensions between her Father and new love interest and rearing the ugly secrets of her past to surface.

Definitely worth a look, I really enjoyed it!!

The play runs until October 8th, limited tickets are available to purchase on the day with some standing tickets also available when all other seats sell out.
